Respiratory System
Centipedes have a tracheal (small tube that carries air to the lungs) respiratory system. In this kind of respiratory system, openings called spiracles that are situated on each segment of the body bring air into the body.
The spiracle is often surrounded by a hardened rim and leads into the spiracle cup. The spiracle cup leads to the trachea (characterized by spiral thickenings) which then provides the oxygen to the body.
